FARGO® Strengthens Presto!(TM) ID Card Printer Line with New Uno and Quatro.

Presto Quatro Offers Inexpensive, Full-Color Printing and Presto Uno Offers Fast, Low-Cost Monochrome Printing

FARGO Electronics, Incorporated, a leading developer and manufacturer of color ID card and page printers, announced the introduction of two new additions to the Presto ID card printer family, the Presto Quatro ID Card Printer and the Presto Uno ID Card Printer.

Quatro produces fast, high-quality, full-color ID cards and badges for organizations of all types and sizes, while Uno produces high-quality monochrome ID cards for companies and organizations that need fast, economical, single-color ID cards and badges. With these additions, FARGO continues its tradition of providing feature-rich ID card printers at affordable prices. Both Uno and Quatro are priced hundreds, even thousands of dollars, less than other printers.

"FARGO is committed to providing ID card solutions for virtually any application and environment," said FARGO's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mark D. Strobel. "With the addition of Uno and Quatro, FARGO now offers a comprehensive product offering designed to meet the needs and budgets of any customer needing high-quality badging solutions."

Quatro prints any combination of text, graphics, bar codes and photos onto durable PVC plastic cards at only 40 seconds per full-color card, making it one of the fastest desktop ID card printers on the market today.

Uno prints any combination of text, graphics, bar codes and photos onto durable blank or pre-screened PVC plastic cards at an industry-leading time of approximately 5 seconds per card. Both Quatro and Uno include a fast 32-bit print spooler that releases the host PC almost immediately, allowing users to begin the next individual's badge without delay.

Uno and Quatro are available through FARGO's world-wide dealer network. For further information, printed sample cards and the name of a local dealer, contact FARGO or call 1-800-459-5636.

FARGO® Introduces Industry's First Easy-To-Use and Affordable ID Badging Solution - the Presto(TM) ID Card System.

FARGO announced the introduction of its newest product, the Presto ID Card System. Presto combines affordability with an easy-to-use ID card production system to produce professional-quality ID cards for thousands of dollars less than other printing systems.

Because the entire process is digital, Presto eliminates the cutting, pasting, laminating and off-line encoding usually associated with traditional composite ID card systems.

Like FARGO's other digital ID card printers, Presto utilizes 300-dpi dye-sublimation and resin thermal transfer printing technology. With this technology, Presto produces bold colors and sharp, high-resolution photos, graphics, bar codes and text onto durable PVC plastic cards.

"Presto is designed for virtually any environment, such as front-desk visitor badging, schools, day care centers or health clubs that need high-quality yet easy-to-produce ID badges," said FARGO's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mark D. Strobel. "With its straightforward design and low price point, Presto is perfect for organizations that previously could not afford other ID card systems."

In addition, Presto can be configured to meet specific customer needs. For customers who seek portability and a complete ID card system in one package, the Presto ID Card System includes everything needed for professional, one-sided ID card printing - all for an industry-leading low price.

Printers are available through FARGO's world-wide dealer network. For further information, printed sample cards and the name of a local dealer, contact FARGO or call 1-800-459-5636.

Discover Pictura's New FotoShield(TM) Ribbon!

Our innovative FotoShield Dye-Sublimation Ribbon with Overlay is now available for Pictura printers. In addition to printing true, continuous-tone, photo-quality images, FotoShield provides a clear overlay panel that is automatically applied to printed images as part of the standard printing process. This powerful overlay protects images from fading, fingerprints, color migration, and "bleeding" often caused by some plastic photo album sleeves. Once applied, the FotoShield overlay makes dye-sub prints as durable as traditional silver halide photographs!

With its 3-color (CMY) printing process, FotoShield is designed primarily for printing photographs. It even utilizes a new dye-sublimation receiver paper that gives printed images a more realistic photographic luster. Our new paper is nearly twice as thick as standard papers, so printed images look - and feel - like traditional photo prints! This makes FotoShield perfect for anyone performing photo restoration or digital photography. Best of all, FotoShield costs just $239.95! (MSRP)

NOTE:
For applications requiring a fourth black panel (e.g., design layouts needing a true-black for printing detailed text and line art), our original 4-color dye-sub ribbon and receiver paper are still available.

To print with FotoShield, you must use the latest Pictura Windows Printer Driver Version 2.5.2 or the latest Macintosh Printer Driver Version 4.6.2. FotoShield is not yet supported through Pictura's PostScript software.

TO ORDER:
FotoShield's part number is 52007. As mentioned, FotoShield must be used in conjunction with Pictura's new, thicker, dye-sublimation paper (part number 52058 - $89.95). To order, contact FARGO.
